Today, I want to talk about plastic surgery after weight loss through GLP-1 medications like Ozempic. For the past 20 years, I’ve been helping patients who’ve lost significant weight, whether through gastric bypass or other surgeries, and in recent years, we’ve seen a rise in patients losing weight with GLP-1 medications. While the weight loss process is similar, I've noticed that patients on Ozempic tend to lose more skeletal muscle compared to those who underwent traditional weight loss surgery. This results in issues like "Ozempic face," which requires facial rejuvenation, and skin laxity or "Ozempic body" in areas like the arms, abdomen, and thighs, often needing a lift. For those with buttock deflation, both fatty tissue and skeletal muscle loss, buttock augmentation and reshaping are necessary.
