However, starting out on her weight loss mission wasn’t easy.

They started out with basic goals such as once a day, Kelly would go for a 30-minute walk – this became a manageable target. Over time, these goals increased both in length and frequency until she was able to ascend a mountain.
Her dedication to self-care and self-love also factored into Kelly’s success. While she made real needs adjustments for herself, she also constantly spoke of self-care throughout the process. She saw therapists and counselors – people who could help her address her need to understand the emotional relationship with food and her positive or negative feelings and body image. She had to unlearn a lot before she could move the needle. She wouldn’t have accomplished all that she did had she not addressed her emotional relationship with food and body image.
The Secret Behind Kelly’s Success
While Kelly Clarkson has not divulged all of her weight loss strategies, she has revealed some of the important elements of her success. Chief of these is her ability to remain consistent with an exercise routine. Because Clarkson is a busy performer, she made a point of combining cardio to maintain and increase her energy, strength and flexibility training to keep her body challenged, and stretching to maintain a healthy metabolism.
Along with her exercise commitments, Kelly also adopted a flesh and blood relationship with her food – food that nourished her and helped her sustain her weight loss efforts.
